White Paper: blending skill flows with AI
The next growth engine for enterprises.
1. A high-pressure context
In an economy where more than 80% of value is created by human labor, time is the primary strategic resource of enterprises. Digital technology — accelerated by the COVID crisis — has proven its potential to free up that time and generate gains in margin, growth and organizational quality.
Yet existing automation comes in two unsatisfying forms: either fragmented (vibe-coded agents, successive patches) or rigid (heavy ERPs topped with SaaS). In a highly heterogeneous European IT landscape, this creates direct costs (subscriptions), indirect costs (time spent using them) and hidden costs (workarounds and makeshift fixes).
It is in this context that the MIT report (2025), synthesizing 150 interviews and 300 enterprise AI experiments, finds 95% operational failure. The main cause is not model quality, but the “learning gap”: AI tools fail to retain context and don't adapt to existing workflows.
| Indicator | Measure | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| 31M | European companies | of which 6–8M have payroll > 50% of total costs |
| 95% | Enterprise AI failure rate | MIT report 2025 — no measurable return on the P&L |
| > 80% | Value created by human labor | Of the economy, excluding the non-market sector |
| Weeks | Syrtis deployment | vs. months for an ERP or a classic solution |
2. The Syrtis answer: the Skill Blending Process
Syrtis' approach rests on the Skill Blending Process (SBP): rather than bolting AI on top of existing systems, Syrtis rebuilds workflows as hybrid processes where human and algorithmic skills are explicitly articulated. This transparency is key to removing the barriers to adoption.
The full-stack, AI-native software architecture is organized in three orchestrated levels:
- Task blocks: simple programs (search, verification, computation, assembly)
- Skill modules: sub-scenarios validated by humans, then self-monitored
- Scenarios: a complete reproduction of a real business workflow
This orchestration achieves reliability above 95%, on par with an experienced employee, deployed in a matter of weeks. The architecture is 100% European, deployable on-premises, compliant by design, and independent of the underlying LLM.
3. The Gen2 offering: a support-services agency
Syrtis today positions itself as a support-services agency for SMEs (20 to 500+ people), structured around two lines:
- Data Support: automatic report generation, data analysis and interpretation. Already in production for an international sports federation (match report in under 5 min, 100% reliable and repeatable).
- Admin Support: generating and sending quotes and contracts, electronic signature, contract reviews, data consolidation. Deployed across several SMEs since Q1 2026.
The services are operated by the Syrtis Family: specialized, single-task AI “colleagues” (Alice, Bob…), coordinated by a central agent (Marion) that manages human interactions, access rights and security. Modularity makes each new delivery faster to deploy.
4. A massive, under-served European market
Out of 31 million European companies, 6 to 8 million have a payroll representing more than half of their costs. They are the first to benefit from AI-driven productivity gains, because their main expense is human time. They are concentrated in business services (consulting, IT, engineering), private healthcare and education, and administrative activities.
The needs identified are recurring and similar from one sector to the next: generating quotes and commercial offers, drafting and tracking contracts, managing regulatory obligations. This similarity of workflows is a direct competitive advantage: Syrtis accelerates its deployments with every new delivery.
5. Mid-term vision: towards an ALI
Syrtis follows a vision opposite to AGI: the ALI (Artificial Limited Intelligence). Rather than aiming for general intelligence, Syrtis builds precise, reliable and adopted services — much as the smartphone reshaped our relationship with digital tools.
The roadmap is structured in four stages:
- Gen2 (under way): a support-services agency for SMEs, with guaranteed ROI in under a year
- Extension 1: Design Partnerships in key verticals (professional services, real estate, R&D)
- Extension 2 — Gen3: advanced coordination services, decision support, enterprise-scale knowledge management
The next generation (Gen3) integrates a persistent knowledge-management system (multidimensional knowledge graph), opening the way to strategic-steering support for SMEs — something the current architecture already makes technically attainable today.
Why Syrtis now?
Because the time has come to stop stacking tools: skill flows must be blended. Syrtis combines a living knowledge substrate, a family of specialized agents and a sovereign control plane — deployable in weeks, measurable on the P&L, and compliant with European requirements by design.
